Charlotte has been so supportive…

I have had a quite a few sessions of consultation with Charlotte including support as a carer and more recently when I was extremely stressed caring for my husband and his subsequent demise During the whole time Charlotte has been so supportive, I don’t think I could have got through everything without her help and caring.

Something on these lines should be available to all people who need the support as a carer.  I cared for my husband for nearly 25 years before he passed and having Charlotte to talk to gave me the strength to keep going over the past year.  This has been the first time in all those years that I felt someone cared about what I was coping with.

A massive Thank You to Charlotte for her support.

It prevented me from going into a depression and I can now cope…

My GP put me in touch with the Social Prescribing service at a time that I wasn’t coping. I was child minding and caring for my husband as he awaited a triple bypass operation. I was feeling overwhelmed.

Charlotte immediately put me in touch with Devon Carers that provided immediate support for me. She also suggested Talkworks and referred me to them. I have undertaken a 6 week course that provided strategies and tools to cope with stress and anxiety. This has proved to be really helpful during the past few weeks, as my husband’s operation was cancelled 3 times – once when he was gowned up and waiting to go to theatre! Charlotte also linked me to a carers support group in Dawlish that I will join. She also suggested looking at The British Heart Foundation website, this has been invaluable as a source of information and support.

Thanks so much for this support- it prevented me going into a depression and I can now cope.

The support and guidance that Lucy has provided has been life changing…

I have struggled for so long, but being able to have an appointment on a frequent basis with you has really helped. Your empathy, humour and understanding of the struggles has made me feel I’m not alone in this and it isn’t as scary as it felt after diagnosis.

Having one small change to focus on at one time has reduced the overwhelm and your tips for habit stacking has helped me to acknowledge these mini victories and gives me encouragement to keep going. I really appreciate all of the good advice, tips and strategies you have shared to make life a little bit easier each day.
